Today i got the engine running in the dragster! 2 1/2 years after buying the car its finally running. It has fought us every step of the way but now it is (for the most part) done. Still lots to do but i feel relieved that it could race after a few more hours of work. When we had issues I found answers to most of my questions in the posts here so Thank You to all of for your help. Big thanks to Spud too for his help too. Oh how i have missed the smell of burning alcohol!

Yesterday I fit up the 2 uprights. didn't have a notcher but had carbide bits.
Chopped the tube a little longer than I need, used the carbide bit to get close then used flap rolls for final fit up.
Worked good. now work on the diff mounts.

A fellow at work welded up the bushings in the uprights and I tacked them in. next is the rear mounts.

I moved my battery up front this winter and I added a ballast system. Last year I would get a occasional wobble after I let off quickly  going through the traps. Reading it says you should have around 350 pounds on the front wheels. I was less than 260 before and now with my ballast set up I can load up to 54 pounds if i need it. Now with the battery and ballast I should just be over 335 on the front wheels. I hope this helps.

I got the steering stuff to the Chrome shop and the chassis to the powder coating guy last Friday. Now to order a starter and other odds and ends so reassembly will go smoothly. Is that even possible???

Jut finished my new paint scheme. Now just have to wait for the motor to comeback from the builder and time to get ready for racing.
