Today's test session
« on: March 28, 2020, 04:58:16 PM »
I think I finally have this car sorted out after a long struggle with launch handling and a few carb issue. I went down to Piedmont dragway 2 weeks ago and worked on the carb troubles and finally on the last pass the car went 4.93 @137 and straight as a string. Well after 2 weeks of wondering if it was a lucky run or if the car was actually working right, today I got to go to Elk Creek dragway which is only about an hour from home and make a few runs. All within .02 of each other, with a best of 4.99 @ 138, and again no ill handling off the line so I think I now have a car I can go racing with if we get to have a race season this year

It is a narrow one. Not much room for error. It's the only place I have ever hurt one of my cars in fact. I bounced the T-bird funny car off the rail there 15 or so years ago.

Thanks for linking it for.
And thanks Greg it has been a challenge to get it to behave. I'm glad I got to go last weekend because it looks like my states governor has went into total panic mode and closed the state today

Sounds correct, but from what I have read, not much changing other than giving authority to break up groups of more than 10, so we may possibly still be able to do some test and tune if it is done the same way as last weekend

It would be interesting to hear what were the issues and what did you do to solve them.
Nice car!

Did finally get arounbd to watching video.Nice looking runs, maybe little too straight(LOL). Would have commented but since I am back in facebook jail again,I have my own cell kind of like ol Otis.  Yea about as good at watching what I say there as in real world.

Maybe we can hit up a test seesion at same time and make a show for the folks. Every knows I like putting on a show.LMAO.

Sounds good to me Chris, Mike, the track operator asked me if I knew of a few more cars that would get together to come over and put on a show if we ever get to go racing, so having you come up for a test session would probably have him really interested.  I finally have the car going straight, and fairly consistent, but it was a lot more fun to drive when it was acting crazy...lol Just let me know if you want to come up for some test time and I'll be sure to get over there at the same time

Hoping Piedmont would do something similar . Only 18 mile tow. Working on our FL70 motor home. Right now towing with dodge 1500 and 32' trailer loaded not problem power wise, but not safest thing handling and braking wise.
