New Zoomies are done!
« on: September 21, 2015, 08:10:07 AM »
Got my new Zoomies today. Stahl pattern headers for B/ND class FED. Made from 2" tubes (steel) with 6" radius U bends and real Stahl mild steel (hot roll) flanges heavily modified. I will be using the Dynotech aluminum adapter plates to mount them to the heads.  Probably way overkill on the tube size considering the exhaust port size of the heads but they look fast! Nice job by Bill P. in Ottawa Ks making these. Covers too!

Really nice zoomies! I'm looking forward to seeing them bolted on.

nice for the first pair.

The next time you might want to try welding the tube on the inside of the flange and use silicon bronze on the outside of the flange and straps, Reason being the bronze welds at a lower temp and does not affect the tube as much which minimizes cracking at that point (almost like a gusset) of the weld. The heat affected zone from welding and numerous heat/run cycles make that area brittle
