FED frontend weight

Did some preliminary weighing frontend of fed. Trying to decide battery effect.Using 2 set bathroom scales. Jacked car up set scale under each tire. Had battery plus 30# for fuel. About everything else except wheelie bar and chute.Me in seat.No fire bottle,oil ,trans fluid or gear oil. I had 356# on frontend. Ball parkn or left field. Car is 225" with aluminu8m hemi at 49.5"  out.  Yea all combo different  just looking for starting point. Rather smoke tires first run than look at the sky.

Sounds light to me I am around 450

Parks said minimum 300,thens his stuff super lite and probably 150 to 200 lighter total weight.

Paul kind of hope I find out your right. I have firebottle and few other items midcar that should add little to frontend weight.  Whats your wheelbase and total weight?

Our 225" WB JrFuel, with the motor out 48" runs 325 to 350 front end weight depending on track condition. Total car weight, with driver is 1425-1450. We run no battery in the car to start it, only one of my one pound battery to run the trans-brake and RacePak. We use a Hayden light weight 10 lb 24 volt remote battery pack to start the motor. Also we have the fuel tank and fire bottle as far forward as we can. Why add ballast to keep the nose down when you have to have fuel tank and fire bottle, move it all forward.
Paul, it seems you have a lot up front, do you need that much weight to keep the front wheels down ? if so you might be hitting the tires too hard at the hit.

Jon, please teach me this, does it mean rear axle centerline to the back of the engine?

Yes Jon to keep the front end down. I am learning each pass down the track

Yes, from the center of axle to back of block/ rear motor plate. We were ahead of our time, because Bud Hammer, my partner,  had Dave Tuttle build the chassis that way in 1997.

Right now fuel tank (3.7 gallon)is behind axle and battery in front ofaxle  CL. Battery weighs 45#,just cheap used 16v Race  battery will be 30#,until can afford lighter=power  piece. Firebottle  not mounted yet. Think full body vs shorty is 20# andchute body 10 more than shorty rear.Got to figure for nitrous bottle also,needs to be close to front of engine to k.eep lins short.

 Rough setup but sounds like in ball park.

Ricardo I have already see thesky from seat,not from FED.Hey I can bypass that if ok.
