Wanted to sell / For Sale SPE and C&A blower starters
« on: October 27, 2020, 12:49:42 PM »
For Sale, SPE offset starter/cables/battery tray. We used this starter to fire up a KB olds Blown Alky motor for 4 years. Finally went to the RCD set up.   Needs a new switch.  Comes with spare chain, sprockets.  I rebuilt the Hex drive and have a custom bolt on socket for the blower pulley.  Custom aluminum chain cover.  These things were all kind of built one off from what I have seen.

We ran the starter with 24V.

SPE $500 plus shipping

Childs and Albert vintage starter.
I have never used it. it is rough.
$50.00 plus shipping.

Email for photos.  I tried to attach a couple and it did not work.         rusty@kramermetalfab.com

I have a Replay XD. Works pretty good.  audio is awful even with the tape over it. but you can learn somethings about the way you drive and what is going on with blower belts, tires, fuel out the pipes etc.  just never liked the clunky go pro.   I think they have a smaller version now.

I just sold my 84 CC dually with a nice sleeper, I think it was made by Silver fox or A&N  trailers? It was really cool but the family likes the Monaco Dynasty much better.

I am that customer.  This Tachometer works great for me,  Nice one button programming Easy hook up. and works well with shift light.  only way to go with a mag.
Seems durable. We had six events this year shook the heck out of It several runs.

Wanted to sell / Kuhl 14-71 HH Blower for Sale.
« on: June 06, 2017, 02:21:23 PM »
I have been using this blower for the past two years.
We have a Alcohol RED with a KB Olds. Ran best of 4.12 @ 173 MPH 1/8th mile with this Blower. Made 40# Boost at 48% over.  We just needed a little more blower so we upgraded to an SSI.

This is an aluminum case. 10 Bolt style so it could be used for a nostalgia build. I was told this is a little more rare to find them with the 5 bolts per side. Blower has large top opening and Pie outlet.

$2,500.00 Plus shipping for the Blower with Drive shaft, Snout and RCD clamp on starter bracket and top RCD belt guard.

Front Engine Dragsters / Re: Diaper or belly pan
« on: February 27, 2017, 02:29:23 PM »
Pan and Diapers are both a PIA and yes Pans are rock catchers. But I Run both on a Rear Engine Car.  Have seen Diapers not hold oil and cars hit the wall.(maybe they were not fit or put on correct)

We tape our pads in the pan and the Diaper and they stay put. I think you want everything you can have to keep oil contained.

I am not and expert but this is what I have found out in my years of asking builders and people in the welding training industry.
ER70S2  or  ER80SD2  best for Tig welding 4130.

I would recommend a poured seat set up. Garvin or bald spot. And also memory foam cage padding. ISP type.  Especially if you are building a High HP car that will shake the tires.   I would never drive a car again without them both.  The cage pads will have appropriate cover and the seat kit comes with a sheet of the proper fabric.

Glen,
I did this on my old SC car. Years ago.. If i remember right what I found was a squirrel cage type fan that was an old auto accessory for a rear window defogger for a car back in the 60s? pretty hoaky little plastic thing but it worked. This was 25 years ago so i don't know what you could find but that is what I did and worked OK.  I just had it on a toggle but on a RED.

Spud Miller's Cave / Re: Engine won't run right with zoomie headers
« on: September 26, 2016, 11:16:53 AM »
I wanted to put Zoomies on a naturally aspirated   engine many years ago and I was advised not to because they do not make enough back pressure for an N/A application and you will lose a lot of low end power.

Pat, if you have an SM5 and get that to work let us know what you did.    Since We put the SM5 on my car we lost  the tach and have not been able to get it back, and believe me I have tried.   talked to one racer with an SM5 and is using a Stack tachometer and that works for him. I will be checking into those at PRI.  My set up worked great with the an SM4 but went to heck after I had Spud hop up the Mag to a 5.

This is not a quick solution but I have always wanted a hose with air to my helmet.  Finally did that on my latest set up. bought an F28? blower from Fresh air systems Tech.  or FAST. They have a blower that mounts to the helmet but will the big cage padding that looks like an entry exit issue to me.
Your Helmet needs a port and you need to find a spot for the blower. it is light but a little bulky. . I bought a new simpson drag bandit that has the hose option on the left side.  you can get the hose option on the top of some helmets I believe.
This is not bottled air but just blown air. Helmet has a fitting straight or 90 degree. I think FAST can add the port on some helmets.   I don't notice the hose at all in the car now.like anything it took me a while to get placement of the components figured out.   Very nice on Hot days to get some air,  and helps with the fog issue in the evenings. Not fast cheap solution but if you are ready for a new helmet I would recommend looking into it.  I would never be without mine now.
