Drag Racing / Bracket Race Inventer Dies

Bill Wilcom the guy how invented bracket racing at 75-80 Drag-A-Way in 60's has passed.Started with 12 classes.Dropped to4 classes by earley  70's.I worked for Bill his last year,told me he missed 3 race dates in 45 years.I hope his wife is doing well [ran food stand].My prayers are with his family.

Stahl pattern zoomie headers,milled flat.What is the best way to seal gasket.What is your gasket choice? INjected on alcohol.

Would matching intake length add more power.I see different length tubes on some dragsters Have crower on a sbc[alcohol].I know length effects toque curve.Any advice would be appreciated.

Have sbc in FED,plug #8 and #7 hit top frame rail. Need to lift motor to remove! Have put in accel plugs,still about two threads from coming out.Is there any shorter plugs? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for input! Went to .036 nozzle and .064 pill hope to try this set up Sunday. will work on tune-up,but trying to win glory days race at South Mountain Raceway. Rain rain stay away.Will let you know how it works.

Have sbc with crower stack injection.I run alcohol fuel.I have had "O" pump checked and is ok. Using .026 nozzle with .054 pill and ran great.Have made changes and now .048 pill is lean [V-P up=faster].Is it time to increase nozzle size,or just change pill  Went 5.62,119.71 vp529 Next rd.went 5.60,119.74  vp546. need help on what to do. Thanks!

I have been bracket racing 20 years in my FED. Runs 5.60s 1/8 mile Bottom bulb with delay box,electric shift. Not the fastest racer,But have won my fair share!! It is tough to win with poor track prep. Only adjustment is tire pressure and stall rpm. Just keep temps under control and watch the weather. I also have wife with me to help get ready for next round [love that]. GOOD LUCK!

Getting ready to reinstall intake gasket on my sbc. Used permatex form a gasket on a fel-pro 1206 gasket,started to leak after first pass.Found form a gasket should not be used with alcohol!! What should I use? It may be intake and heads are not parallel,will check this week.If not parallel,what should I do?End rails get sealed with ultra gray.Thanks for any help.P.S. this a crower intake [old but flat].

Went to track 10-4-20,stable air day.Ran 5.75 lbs,raised stall rpm close to stall[less hit to tires]. With less air softer hit ran 5.6351 first run.Two hours later,same set-up ran 5.6309.Did not get to play with air for third run due to rain.With 60ft times within .005 I think I have found a winner.Thanks for input.Season is over at my track.

Iam running hoosier 32x12-15 do5 without tubes.I get tire shake when track prep is not so good,even on trans shift.Have not played with presser yet.Would putting tubes back in help? This tire has worked just fine with cold or hot track for last two sets of tires.This is first year without tubes.Maybe Tubes were covering for wrong tire,or should I play with air setting more.My FED will 1.22 60ft and run 5 60s.

My FED runs 5.60s with 1.20 60ft times in 1/8mi.Have been using Hoosier 32/12-15 DO5,with tubes. Should I loose the tubes and is there a better tire for my 12in rims The Hoosiers have worked good with 6 to 6.5 psi,over 375 runs
