It is recommended that the tongue weight be at least 10-15% of total weight .So get out a scale to remove any doubt .

Had same problem with front end wobble on my altered after one piece opel body was replaced with light
t - body. Made many adjustments . Only solution was to add steering damper . I bought S&W unit which is adjustable . Other units out there ,street rod  or volkswagan .Talked to other altered guys who have added them with same severe wobble . That convivced me to buy it .

Old racer back in the 70's recommended using shaving cream in head water passages to prevent anything in head from falling into cyl. on install . Been using it since .

Have contacted  Scott at S&W and he told me that the chassis should cert.as is, but the diagonal diameters are under size. So I don't think he know .

Thanks Pallidin, The list confirms that my altered was built by S&W which I already knew.Now I can prove to a friend that his altered was also built by S&W .I know that my car was built in 1973 with an Opel GT body with a 96" WB. I still have the body but have moth balled that for a T bucket ,makes it a one man operation at the track.Is there any way to find out what the tubing specs were for those early years ?I know mine will not cert because fo a couple of diagonals and  uprights .

I have a early 70's altered .what can be learned from the tag that is welded to the chassis ?
