friend of mine wanted a FED real bad, looked for a long time. Money being biggest problem finally found an old car sitting in a garage for over 10 years, bought it, I helped him bring it up to racable condition. The engine was worn out the trans was worn out, but all in all a good car. we had an engine (pretty much stock) and we rebuilt the trans (powerglide) Put a radiator on it, and run the xxxx out of it. Mostly a wash and race type car. Enjoyed it so much went out and got me one too. I've been racing all my life (61 years old now) and this has got to be one of the cheapest and most fun experiences I've had the pleasure to do. So do it you will not regret it. This site has people that have the experience and are willing to help

Wanted to buy / Re: 16'' front tires?
« on: December 30, 2013, 03:22:21 PM »
Talked to Jon just a little while ago am sending pictures so he can tell me what I need. Very knowledgeable was interesting talking to him. I've got a lot of motorcycle experience so I don't think it should be all that hard to lace and true the wheels, but I will listen to to his suggestions. nobody knows everything, but know one can't learn. Just depends on if its a benefit to learn or just pay for the experience. Thanks for all the help I've received here, this car so far has been a blast.

I believe your right 17's seem to be best choice, Now all I have to do is get some rims and spokes and learn how to lace a wheel. Can't see a real problem. Thank You for the help
