I’m 61 years old been building hot rods and drag cars for 40 plus years. I've had 4 back surgeries and now they’re taking about another but I’ve put that on hold for now. I traded for this FED thinking I could get in and out ok without trouble but that’s not the case my equilibrium is off due to the 4 previous surgerys and it’s a little closterfobic for me. But I do know when a car is built right and this one is!
Im looking for trades for a Door Car pre 1967 please no junk Email your trades to hotrodhoodlum@inbox.com with complete info of your car with pictures.
Where I come from a man’s word is gold and a simple hand shake is a done deal I don't want any surprises and I’m sure you don’t either on other hand I’m too old for games, no reason to hide stuff about a nice Hot Rod.
This Hot Rod was built and restored by Pat Maset AKA “Hit Man” and his dad Dave, the build started Dec. 2004. Pat use to run a FED by the name of “Strange Brew you can fine the start of this build at “Metal shapers Association” web page under Dave Maset. Pat bought the project while still in Iraq serving our country. Dave figured the chassis to be late sixties FED frame that someone back-half & started to turn into a competition coupe but never finished. In 2005 was the début shake down at Steel valley Race Way in Jefferson, It was a success for its first time out
Down the road the Coupe went, it is my understanding I’m the 4th owner. Before me It was bought in Canada by a gentlemen from St Louis and the FED was rebuilt to his liking and called Coupe Degras.
It’s is powered by a rebuilt SBC with only 6 passes on the engine. St Louis gentlemen rebuilt the SBC, it has Aluminum 58cc Heads Forged Pistons, compression is around 12.5 runs on 110. It has 750 race Holley carburetor and the engine is very responsive! Electric water Pump, Radiator with electric fans so you can drive back to pits after the run
Powerglide Transmission with a brake it’s freshly Rebuilt it has zero runs on it! Converter is a 5000 stall.
Rear is a 9” Ford with 4.33 Gears, Deist Drag Shute mounted.
Full Dragster body is all aluminum fabricated by Dave Maset no fiberglass here, except for the race bodies. You do have the choice of 2 different bodies to run Coupe Body or the Fiat you will get both in a deal or don’t run one at all
Front end is a Chrome straight axle with 18” Nostalgic wire wheels. Rear wheels are Crager daisy’s with 33 x10.5 x 15” MT slicks that look like new. Chassis will certify
Car Ran a 6.40 1/8 mile before transmission with rebuilt and it was slipping through the whole run no reason why it shouldn't run 9.80s 1/4 mile with new trans will pass tech with no problems
Cage is 22” wide and 40” from the floor to top of cage.
I’m 6”2” 270lbs and have plenty of room with shoulder width, but peddles are too close for me and legs are bent too much to operate safely, so instead of tearing it up to fit me
I’m looking to Tarde for a Nostalgia door car that will work better.
