Wow, it sure sounds like I have a lot to learn about racing. Been around the tracks for years but never noticed those games before. I have seen guys staging while backing up but didn't know it was illegal. Just an amateur I guess?

There has been a lot of good advise given here.
My experiences with building a car is its quite a bit more expensive. I went through buying parts and putting them on the shelf until I had enough to build something. That cost me seemingly triple what buying a roller would have cost and will get about 1/3 return when I sell it.
My advise is buy a roller or a turn key car. Look at the "for sale" section here. There are 6 on the 1st page. Maybe one should consider that there ARE 6 on the 1st page before jumping in. I didn't and 10 years down the road and I still have never taken the car to the track.

That car and engine are killer. But it is also WAAAAAAAAAY out of my budget. Reasons like this are why I cannot class race. And I know I am not alone in that fact.

I need to sell my FED due to personal issues.
144" wb SBF injected engine with PG trans and 5000 converter with chrysler 8 3/4" rearend.
The engine is 410" SBF with older trickflow streetheat heads, completely reworked by Reeves performance in Warner Robins Ga. New 2.08/1.94 titanium valves and new springs. Mahle pistons and an Ohio crankshaft and H-beam rods. DSS girdle on the bottom and in lifter valley. New custom built zoomie headers built by Wayne Hilburn racecars.
Fresh PG trans built by Roger Bishop in Perry. Supermag 3 magneto from Donnie Holbrook performance. The engine is topped with an original 3 rib bugcatcher on a tunnelram intake.
The engine has never been fired. The car needs to be wired, have the seat completed and a few other minor issues.
MAKE OFFER.
All I can do is say no if I don't agree.

I have an incomplete 144" wb 410" SBF with a PG trans, 5000 stall converter with a Chrysler 8 3/4" rear 4.10 gears with 33/12.5 tires. Still never fired as personal issues have stalled the progress so no times or HP ratings, compression etc to give out.

I have an FED I might be willing to trade for the 37'. Its in my avatar. It also needs some minor work to be complete and I have lost interest. Wiring, wheelie bar, re-mounting the steering at cockpit and complete seat,etc. Nothing too bad.

That car belonged to a guy with Southernslingshots.com I have seen it but not recently. Back last summer I saw it in South Carolina last summer. It was a nice car then. I never liked the injector on an FED, looks too modern to me. Just my opinion though. LOL

Dreracecar, Thanks for the response. I was thinking the issue was aluminum heads and never thought about valve orientation.
