Chris,
When we ran the injected 607" hemi in our 225" Tuttle, we used a Hoosier 33.0/14 D07 compound. Very consistent and would hook in a car wash. FWIW

Matt Shaff's Engine Shop / Re: bench racing time what will it make

Yes it was specific for the hemi... Was too tight (5800) it needed to be around 64-6500. Fwiw I have the crank for sale. It's a KB billet std/std balanced and double keyed. No need for it any longer. Also , I tried a. 4.30 gear and it was much too violent and trap rpm was 8600 (piston speed was in the stratosphere with that much leg and for what we were doing lol)

Wideopen, I ran a similar combo two years ago before changing cars and engine combo, here's what it was......
607" KB solid aluminum block .500" tall deck, BAE fuel heads 2.375/2.000, 4.75" stroke, 4.510 bore, 7.550 BME rods, 290/286 @.050, .800/.785 lift 112 LS, pro mag 20, 5 stage dry sump oiling with star vacuum pump (18" vacuum), buzzard hat with adapter for KB manifold (your fab intake WILL be better), 1575lb Tuttle FED, 1.69 first gear glide, 3.89 rear gear, 14.0/33 tire, A-1 9" converter, shifted @7800, trapped around 8-8200, these were some older pieces a friend of mine and I thought we would "try", the engine had some untapped potential if I had stuck with it. It was easy on parts and very low maintenance. Ran a best of 7.19 @ 191 @ 3100 DA. With persistent tuning and a few parts changes it would have been a 6 second ride no problem. Hope I could give some insight to your build and best of luck!

Larry, the 607in hemi went on a diet ha. I sold the Tuttle car to a gentleman on the West coast and purchased a Fiat Spitzer altered. I retained the KB block and BAE fuel heads but the rest has been changed to a 4.25 stroke, 4.310 bore combo..500in give or take. Its 1471 blown and we will run it in 7.0. The car has been a ground up resto with lots of speed bumps along the way. Should be at Gateway for the NDRL opener (fingers crossed). What have you been up to and will we see your altered burnin up the lanes this year?

PAC 1350 if memory serves me correctly .... Shifted @9800, averaged 10-10200 through the traps. If you are going to run alcohol, the mag is a must at that RPM. An elect MSD 7AL-3 was not efficient above 9000. I started with an RCD hemi mag base and machined from there. Spud just converted my MSD to a 20 and is currently flowing my fuel system for a blown hemi. If I had consulted him in the infancy of my p7 adventure it would have advanced me probably a season of hard knocks lol. Its a forgiving, consistent engine combo.

I ran a stack injected p7...) fwiw I bought a hemi mag base, machined it to fit the p7, changed the bronze gear and installed an MSD pro mag 12. There is not a mag base offered for the p7. 358" in a 1400lb digger equaled a best of 7.41@180. Sold the engine two months ago to a bracket racer. Super consistent engine, best of luck to you.
