Front Engine Dragsters / Perplexed
« on: December 26, 2014, 05:48:10 PM »
I've been struggling with a problem for a month need some help...Engine came off the dyno running great idling great.  Put it in the dragster engine won't idle clean.  Three differences: the dyno has a 7AL-2 ignition setup, collector style headers, and a different fuel system.  Engine is a 15 to 1 SBC with HFE intake and a dominator.  The dragster has a new Mallory HyFire 7C ignition and zoomie headers.  I'm starting to question whether zoomie headers may be a problem on a carbureted gas application?  or maybe the new ignition has an issue?  any thoughts???

Dan Dishon's Transmission Den / Stock Case vs Aftermarket
« on: November 01, 2014, 04:58:18 PM »
Hey Dan,
At what point do you recommend an aftermarket powerglide case. I currently have a stock case 1.76 full length glide with upgraded internals with transbrake.  My dragster weighs 1450 with me in it, the small block chevy made 725hp on the engine dyno.  Should a stock case work?

Thanks,

Dan Dishon's Transmission Den / Powerglide Vent

Hi Dan,
My glide is a stock case glide with upgraded internals, my question is it has the stock plastic type vent cap, I see a lot of racers have a line in this location hooked to a tank?  should I go with that setup?

Thanks,
John

Front Engine Dragsters / What is the perfect Front to Back weight ratio?
« on: September 18, 2014, 04:30:25 AM »
I'm sure every car is different, but are there ratio boundaries? i.e. 80/20%

Their website has a customers cars section which shows a pic. Also, the Back Seat Drivers website shows an S&W car owned by D. Grubb.
