Title: Transmission Gear Ratio

I know you run a Powerglide, but if you were to run a Crowerglide and Lenco 2 speed, what ratio would you start with on your combo?

I have 1.31, 1.44 and 1.56 available to me.

And given those options, would you still run the 2.91 rear gear or.....?

 A 3.73 rear gear and that 1.31 low give the same final drive as my 2.91 and 1.69...but I don't think you'll need something like that off the line with a clutch like a converter requires. Also, down-track you'll have control of the load on the motor with your clutch - unlike a converter.

So, I'd recommend the 1.56 low and a 3.73.
