At what % should I be considering aluminum rods?

I would say at 50% or higher they are a must. Quite a few customers are running steel H beam rods with 30% just fine.

 Steel rods transfer every bit of the impact and shock loading into the bearings and crank. The shock loads are much greater running nitro and aluminum rods are generally accepted as helping to cushion this somewhat.
