while i'm still putting together my car, i'm just wondering what times it will run. so it got me thinking what times others are running
so why don't you post your times, details of your car (engine, trans, rear ratio & tyre diameter) and any other info you think people might be interested in

Great Idea, I think it would be good to include the Time Slip for the run being disscused.

Coan 7500 stall converter

Cajuninjector, thanks for your info, that's fast! Nitro? Can you share ballpark trap RPM?
Great thread!
-
Welcome Ricardo,
No nitro, just alky. My 8th mile is around 8,500.
-
I'd be glad to post a time slip, if I had a printer or scanner connected to this puter. My little car isn't that fast but it impressed me, considering the combo. 5.94 @ 117 eighth mile with a ZZ-4 crate engine, 625 street demon carb, pump gas, glide, 4.86 gear 33x10.5w tire, 1250 lbs. I've been a lot faster but it sure cost more and was a lot harder work. Can't wait to see what the little blower engine will do!

How is that 1.69 low gear working for you ? I would like to try one myself Bill Masiello

Run the same set up as cajuninjector but a 1:80 low gear in the powerglide best e.t. 7.67 best mph 171.9 at Tulsa this past Sept at the Nitro Nationals.
-
our first time, last may, we broke the dedenbear glide. too hot of summer so our next time out was sept. we were running a buick 4.1 v6. this is the 5th or 6th car this engine been in. we did a best of 11.77 @ 111. not bad for a tired engine. the buick 350 going in next should take into the low 9's to start.

We like it. Had the 1.80 and it was too hard of a hit off the start. It's also what Scott and Frank suggest. I take their advice no matter what I think because I don't know xxxx. Lol

Hi Jim.....this is Steve Walczak. Good to see you at Bradenton. Your car ran great.
Glenn Lever is a friend and and co racer here in Rochester. I came back home to work for 8 days and then will be returning to Ft Myers this Thurs. (3/7) and then leaving for the Gators (to watch).
Hope to run into you again at a race this summer.

I really don't keep time tickets but I did find this old one. After over 50 years of clutching ya just don't think about saving Time Tickets. About the only thing I have kep is some of my old licenses...
I guess I'm not a Key Board Driver...

Hope you have been working on that R/T...lol.

AF150
ya I did, I had my eyes operated on for cataracts and corrective linses installed to make my eyes more light sensitive an eye drops plus snort puer oxygen before I strap in, that's what happen when you get old, Ask john Force and watch what he does when getting ready to strapin and run,lol That time slip was from 1997, about 16 years ago and I was 56 years old then, plus I have made some correction on the chassis. one of the problems with front motor dragster running a glide and chassis flex,to much power and not enough Tire with a 12" tire. My recommendation to anyone wanting to run a fed would be try to run under a 150 mph, and above 9.99 (slower) that way it's cheeper to run and you can have fun without all the expense of chassis cert, the rules are not near the trouble with nhra. Read the nhra rule book close and don't read what you can do but read between the lines.. But if you got more money than Gxd you want to spend then go for it, I'm sure there are a lot of Manufactures just waiting for you out there. lol Back in the 1990t I saw Don Garlits on TNN nhra today in an interview and he was ask about a part on his car (where did he get it) fishing for info and Don said to the interviewer (quote) You know I don't run that store bough junk)
and immediately went to commercial.. lol
Thanks for the memories
Bud

I turned the blower up and swapped pills one day, ran 18psi and went 7.19/192. That is about as far as i wanted to push an 80a-1 pump. Wasn't returning much of any fuel.

Those are the numbers I like to run next year.
