Hello all, I've recently acquired a chassis I've been after for 15 years, from my research its a late 60s to early 70s car. But that's why I'm on here, I don't know for sure how old it is or who built it. Was told by previous owner it came from bobby Langley, and he thought it was scorpion VI. I don't think that's the case from the pics I've seen of scorpion VI. Was also told by another racer that knew the car that he thought it was a Langley built bracket chassis, this I might believe. But I want to find out, so I'm here to ask for guidance, who can I ask?
Btw I'm new to this site and to feds, so please forgive me for being green...

Your best bet is to contact Don Ross as he has a lot of knowledge regarding Bobby Langley's cars. He is in Garland, TX and his phone is: 214 327 7312. Web is: http://www.donrossfab.com

Thanks Roo, I'll let you know what comes of it.

Send me the pictures we talked about today and I will take a look at them. As far as I know Bobby never built a tube chassis car. Scorpion 1 thru 4 were aluminum channel , he did build an aluminum channel car for a mail man but it was never finished. The Scorpion V was built by Conny Swingel at Garlit's shop as a Garlits chassis. Scorpion VI was built by Henry(Moose) Schroder of T Bar chassis.

I emailed them earlier today, going to put the Dropbox link here for anyone else that would like to see.

A lot of the pre-made tabs and such are from SPE,

After talking to Don Ross and sending pictures, it does appear to be scorpion vi.. It's kind of a bitter sweet deal since it won't ever make another lap down the 1/4 mile... Thanks for your help Don and Roo.

Are you going to restore the car??

I don't own it, I've talked to the owner and if he doesn't decide to restore it I'm sure it will end up in the right hands.
