So what are you guys using ?
-
As bad as I hate to admit it I bought a Jegs brand....works great.
-
What I use.
-
We use stands that slot into the canard mounts
-
thanks guys, think I'll build one similar to the Jegs one with the hoop up high so the jack goes in and out.
-
I bought a jegs one also and used poly ramps out front.
-
I am building one that fits chassis at rear with stops on both sides so car stays in place while warming up. I see TOO many bracket guys fire car up and walk around while its warming motor then jump in and ride around to warm rear and trans. Maybe its just that coming from TA/FC and TA/D I think its stupid. Besides my car has no park . Less weight and hey its a race car and room for girl so why park?

This is my top secret warm up stand ! I was thinking of getting a patent on it !

This is a set-up from Bob Meyer Race Cars. With a bracket welded to the lower frame rail on each side, the stand is positioned so the quick release ball pin slides thru the frame bracket and into the stand. Welded in the top horizontal piece of 1” sq. tubing of the stand on each side is a short 7/8”OD by 1/2”ID steel bushing that the pin sides into and is secured. Works slick, very stable.

I was impressed until I saw the handle on it, way too fancy for my liking.

So Roger, you just use the roller cradle to move the car around the shop and whatnot, but to run it, set the stand on the ground?
-
That's right janjon. The roller cradles (one in the front too) are just used in the shop. Makes moving the car around a WHOLE lot easier in my small shop!
