Runout on rear wheel

<< < (2/2)

PSweeney:
throw it on the balancer without the tire, any visable run-out or if the rim requires too much weight to balance, I'd replace them.

I spent a season chasing a handling problem where my altered would start bouncing and break loose at 1000ft.  The season before I'd a "moment" in the shutdown where, due to my fault the car got out of shape and bounced around landing really hard on the rear tires.  Turns out I'd buckled a rim and bent a MW 35 spline shaft.  The shaft was chucked up in a lathe and had about 1mm eccentricity at the flange.

So if in doubt replace,  :)
