Thanks, still digging into the history on it. Have traced it back to three previous owners going back to 1990's. Chassis originally built by Bernie Schacker. It was an east coast car until I brought it to Utah. I haven't found when it was converted to VW power, or if it always was. Or even what year it was built. Powerglide and Pontiac 9.3" Thompson rear end in it screams vintage, but who really knows. Not me. Yet.

Eaallred,
ok, where did you hide the radiator?  ;D

Eallred  - no transaxle, I was wondering on your driveline... and MT magnesium center, your fed has a few exclusive items going for it (thanks for info).  VW engines have to run reverse rotation (?) when you relocate from facing south to north, hmmm…  DF

dreracecar:
Looking at pulley side of a VW engine it rotates clock-wise like any normal engine. Putting the engine behind the axle requires the ring gear to be on the oppisite side of the pinion as what we would consider normal. Putting the engine in front of the axle would be like installing any other engine.
