Never tested it.I have read hundred articles on it. Seems it all depends on combo. If your cam is little small then it seems to help.If your on the edge of too big seems it push'e you over and actually hurts but giving more duration. Some combo like mix with 1.5 on o intake and 1.6 on exhaust .
Relecting obama is like shooting right foot because it did not hurt enough when you shot left foot

I think like Chris said it depends on your combo . If you have a real good flowing set of heads with big intake valves then yes . You might see a small gain by putting them on the intake . Some of the comp guy's are using ratio's of 1.8 on a small block to get the lift up to 1 inch plus .

If you do try it, make sure that several clearances are still okay. You'll want to check your valve-to-piston, retainer bottom-to-guide, coil bind and overall geometry. The duration will be the same but you will have more lift (6.7%) at every crank angle which is a "bunch" of area under the curve. More ratio will also put more load on your pushrods and lifters. As others have already said... it really depends on your combination whether you will be faster. There is a good chance you will be. The Grump was doing this to his small blocks decades ago and he was pretty fast. Shoot... the exhaust rockers on my small block are way over 1.6/1
