How wide is the front rim?    We ran a ChinSen 16" rib front tire on our 8sec jr fuel car with "O" problems, no need to switch over to 17" right now

The tire size is 225/16, where did you get the ribbed tires?

The 2.25x16 Cheng Shin rib tires are no longer available. Cheng Shin stopped importing D.O.T. tires about 10 years ago.
You might find some old 2.25x16 uni tread Cheng Shin on Ebay. Which will be at least 10-15 years old, and might be too light of a tire if the weight across your front axle is over 350 lbs.  There are a couple of 3.00x16 tires available, [$60 to $100 ea] but if you plan on running your slingshot for awhile, you may want to convert your wheels to 17" so you can get replacement tires.

I believe your right 17's seem to be best choice, Now all I have to do is get some rims and spokes and learn how to lace a wheel. Can't see a real problem. Thank You for the help

I do most of my work myself but, lacing the front rims I would send them out to Jon.

Talked to Jon just a little while ago am sending pictures so he can tell me what I need. Very knowledgeable was interesting talking to him. I've got a lot of motorcycle experience so I don't think it should be all that hard to lace and true the wheels, but I will listen to to his suggestions. nobody knows everything, but know one can't learn. Just depends on if its a benefit to learn or just pay for the experience. Thanks for all the help I've received here, this car so far has been a blast.
