Oil breather tubes on rear of cage

Hi guys, got a few questions.
On feds that have oil breathers on the back of the car, and the chassis top tube is used to carry the fumes to the rear.. What considerations are done when the vent-tubes are fitted on the chassis? Is the area doubled and then the hole cut? Is there a formula for area doubled v's tube diameters?

You can weld the breather tubes directly to the frame without doublers

Wow, Bruce is on it--not even five minutes and Magnus has a reply. 
  I run my burn down tubes on the lower rails on my front motor cars and as I normally use a 1.125 lower rail and 1.25 burndown tubes I sleeve the lower rail. I usually make up the sleeve/burndown tube as a unit and slide it onto the rail when I stack the chassis.  Once I position the sleeve I weld around the ends of it and then bore the hole in the rail. Some builders use a tight radius bend for the burndown tube and use the extra length obtained by cutting through the bend to beef the rail at that point.

Here is my set up...Breathers were added later to both sides of the u shaped tubes...Also, don't do what I did and make sure you have some type of system to drain it!
