New NT/F from Illinois

(1/2) > >>

rooman:
These have been posted elsewhere in the past but I figured that some people may not have seen them.
This is a new 225" nostalgia top fuel car owned by Scott and Espie Calmes. It will be late hemi powered and Scott, along with Dave Lindsay of Rapisarda International Autosports, is putting the motor together now. The car is back in my shop to have a dry sump tank added and some other finish work done (puke tank, fuel tank etc) but is substantially complete. When these photos were taken Scott had just hauled the car home for the first time and mocked it up with the wooden intake "manifold". He now has the top end from Paul Romine's NF/C on the motor.

Roo what late model block seems to be the most popular for NT/F? I think the fact that most people don't know what combination to to get started with hurts the nostalgia deal. I seen the pic's of this car on the HAMB you did a great job Roo.

I would like to see it where you can run 426 aluminum blocks. While Iunderstand the cost.In longrun its cheaper.Aluminum can be repaired easier.  There are lots of used ones around at half cost of new. I worried about apperance to public just make rule they have to be painted. Now keeping [paint on with nitro might be trick.

Oh yea I have 4 blocks that I could run if by some chance I lucked into money to run the class.

rooman:
Aftermarket or stock aluminum blocks are legal in nostalgia top fuel and funny car. The only class that has an iron block restriction is NHRA's A and B nostalgia (injected 410, iron block and heads).
