You know I will..

I thought I had a good lead from a local racer at the time.. But he said it wasn't his car. His name is Dave Wholey  and he owned the Wholey & Starr AA/FD  around 1967. He said he hated the woody push bar and cut his off and made something different.

Ill keep on looking

It's been awhile and I have been going nuts looking at pics and videos of front engine dragsters.  :o I appreciate the help that I have been getting from this site. One of the things I have been searching is the steering wheel in my car.  Bruce sent me a pic of a car with one and mike Roth said he restored a car with the same.   I just watched a video remembering US30 and a FED also had the same BUT it was filmed in 1964.  So it seems like an older steering wheel. Not a lot like it though.

I am putting my Woody in the world of wheels car show on jan 24-26 and see if anyone remembers it in the 1970's.  I removed a lot of paint off the seat and found a dark blue paint job. Could be the original color as it had 3 other colors on top of it..

Thanks again to all that are helping me find its history.

Is there any other paint under the "Death Dealer" stuff?

I used stripper on seat and left panel between wheel and frame.  Removed the blue spray can paint then went to candy red with gold flake base. Next was a white paint. Under that it was black. The seats first coat seems to have been a dark blue.

After the car show next weekend I will see what's under the cowl and side panels.

My steering wheel looks the same. Don't know a lot about my car but is mid 60's and came from Illinois. Appeared to be original? to the car.

Mark we have the same steering wheel. But what I have been told Woody Gilmore used his own wheel. They are not real common.

It does, but I really like the design of the steering wheel.

They are held with screws like yours, mine are stainless now. I hate rust.

I found a name on the small block Chevy that was in the car.. It said built by Toad Hall.  Stamped on block.

It's a good lead if I can find the Toad. lol

No info from the car show.

After 3 weeks waiting for weather to warm up I took car out of trailer. On a snowy day lol
