Hi all,
I'm new to this forum but not new to FED.
I have been out of racing for a while but want to get back in to it.
Looking for advice on buying a used car that's not certified.

Thanks
Hoss

Buy the SFI spec book for the et you expect to run. It will be the smartest $ you will spend.

Why do you want a not certified car???
You can find a lot of kill your self cars out there and a certified car will not guarantee you won't. BUT IT WILL GO A LONG WAY TOWARD IT!

Hoss...welcome to the forum.
There are two big nostalgia races coming up in Oklahoma. Ardmore on the 31st of Aug. (Labor Day
weekend) and then at Tulsa on the 13th & 14th of Sept.  Lots of FEDs, some are always for sale, and
lots of guys who can point you in the right directions.

IMO and that maybe worth 2 cent on good day.  Buying a non cert car is bad investment, then racing usually is anyway. Harder to sale later and as said not as safe. As for making 40 w/o killingself.I made 47 same way and doing as much dangerous over the line crap as anyone.I contribute a lot of that being to taking educated chances. Ive been 5.7 at 249 in alky car way back in mid 90's. I would make a pass in non cert car, because to me the very slight cost differance is not worth it.  Just my opion, but then I hat seat belt and helmet laws.

I have been looking at a few rollers that have been updated and there out of cert right now. I have a fab shop / machine shop and mostly do helicopter stuff. I was going to build one from scratch but spare time is hard to come by.
I had an old front engine car back in the late 80's back than they were just called old and out dated now there Nostaligic and cool. Go figure!
I loved racing it and didn't really care because that sucker would tare it up.
Thanks
Hoss

Hoss:
I hope you did not take that first note wrong. I did not think about a car that is just out of cert.
Mike can build or fix you a very nice car if you can get him to do it. and he is in your back yard.
