Finally found some time to work on my car today . Put the small fuel tank back up front and the small battery. Remounting the oil accumulator and fire bottle . It's been a really bad winter and all I have had time to do is fix plow truck's ! Time for some quality time with my race car !

I mounted my home made body and finished engine pan --I am ready for paint now.
I have always had a fascination with fast cars at the expense of more normal character development

I'm learning also..  Chrysler made 331, 354 and 392. 392's seemed to be the engine of choice.

Finished the install of the new sheet metal tunnel ram. Been working on it about three years. Finally to day it barked to life. [image][/img]
Manifold is tuned for 6000RPM which is engine peak power as well. Headers which have to  be made to match because it is a single flange six manifold are also tuned to peak power point. All was designed and built in house except my pal John who owns Noronco Sheet Metal Company came one day and ask me how it went together. Stamped all the runners and flange and took it to his shop for his best tigger to do. (said I was taking too long.) I made the headers after that. Two Holley 500 2 bbls feed it. In reality because 2 brls are rated at a different vacuum drop they are not really 500 cfm but the pair are almost an exact equivalent of a 750 Holley 4 bbl for flow (and in fact construction) The carbs were hard to find and were tough but I was able to bring them back to life. Choke horns are removed and circuitry has been treated as all my race holleys.
I am looking for that "smoked him right in the lights" pull as I clear the traps. Perhaps  25 or 30 more peak ponies

Spent four hours cutting on some used Wilwood calipers I bought. Milled all ares I could find that had extra material and made them look little like the lite weight Strange units I have seen. 4 hours and I  got about 2 1/4 lbs total off.Plus figure don't need bleeders except for when first installing and 4 bleeders weigh about 6 to 7 oz and four pipe plus less than 2 oz so another 1/4 lb saved at no cost Not much but its weight off and cost zero dollars. Work wise I went in the hole I guess. I use to pay 100 buck per lb when we took it off funny car ,so looking at it that way Im good with it.

Starting new housing this weekend out of moly and canning the mild steel one. Hopefully about 20 lbs differance when done. also changed ot cpl panles that where .050 for some .040 aluminum have not weighed yet but has to be 20% less.  Now take the full chute body off and swap to second body(shorty) and I can save more but  I like the look.I always have option since I made both.

Dolmetsch, it turned out great! I was missing your updates. Can't wait to hear how it goes at the track.
