Well...I hope you are right George and they ARE fast. I know a couple of A/ND guys that are going real fast with the slightly taller (33") and heavier tires. Mine is a less powerful B/ND so I think the 2585s will be okay.

I think you will be very happy with them.

I used that tire and it was very good . My best ever E.T. was on that tire a 7.34 at 181 and that was with a 4.86 gear ! The only reason we went to the taller tire was when we started spraying with nitrous it would blow the tires right off . I am having decent luck with the 12x33 Hoosiers but I still think the Goodyear tire was better.

I reluctantly bought a set of the Hoosier JR fuel tires. They will hookup OK but it cost some ET and I don't see much growth. I am going to Indy Saturday. Maybe I can find a set there.

Bill, your car will look awesome with zoomies!

People say you'll loose some power, I wouldn't mind loosing some hp if that's the price to pay. IMO a FED with headers in no-no. It would be nice if you could do some back-to-back runs to find out what you gain or loose with zoomies.

Nice kit TED!

I have been told you only lose power with Zoomies if you are normally aspirated, but if you are super charged that is not an issue?????

Yesterday was a wild day weather wise at the US nationals. I never did find Goodyear!

George I don't think you will find that tire at Goodyear . There were a limited amount of them produced this year and I think Jon Hayden would be the guy to talk to . If you can't find the Goodyear tire the Hoosier 12x33 will work . A lot of the Comp guy's are using it on the b/ed and c/da cars and going fast with them . You might have to change your rear gear to make up for the additional height .

Yes Bill and George, the reason I pre-sold 180 D2585 GoodYear 31x12x15 slicks was GY made that tire along with a number of other tires like D1288, GY 33x12x15 "Inactive" and had not made those tires for about two years. But I found out they would make another batch of the 22.6 lb D2585. That tire has worked very well for JrFuel, some Comp Elim cars and other FED, one reason is the light rotating weight, means less HP needed to get to a good tire speed. When I found out last fall that GoodYear wasn't going to make any of the tires in the near future, I looked for options, and called all slick manufactures that made similar size tires. It looked like the Hoosier had the closest , but their J/F tire 31x12x15 weighted about 7 to 8 lbs more, per tire.  So, again that's why I was able to get GoodYear to make another batch, as long as I gave them a good order for at least 150 tires. The tires are being shipped to the two GoodYear race distributors I've been working with last week and next week. The D2585's should be matched and ready for shipping the week of Sept 9'th to those racers that commited to the 180 tire order. If anyone would like to get any of these, call me 805-444-4489, I may have some cancellations.
Since the D1288, 33x12x15 tires were also made "inactive" I asked around to see if I could pre-sell 150 tires. But not enough interest, could be the 33" tall tire racers were trying the Hoosiers. The racers that have tried and race the 33's, like B/ED, C/DA  use 3 speeds, the very fast A/ND team using the D1288's are using 5.38 rear gears, to help over come the taller/ heavier tire.
I hope this information helps.

Jon, You have been a huge help getting this D2585 deal done. Thanks for your efforts!

Bill, those zoomies are looking great on your car. Can't wait for Epping.
