The block is still at Charlie's shop but I'm thinking he'll finish up some time this week. I agree that he is one of the best. I really listen closely whenever he says "I'll do whatever you want, but if it was mine I would ..."

Actually got few little things done. Finished steering links(just need spindles),Throttle pedal and cable mounts for it, Mounted secondary master cylinder for hand brake for draging her down at finish line and the last two diagonals. Oh yea the motor limiter bar and bracket. Not big things but hey its progress.

Nope never.Always like to have options. Bad part(or not) of drug out build,to much thinking time.My wife says Im like the old comerial About a good mind is terrible thing to waste.Except mine is dangerous or expensive thing to use, sometimes both.

Trying to cover all bases as far as brackets go.Plus you have to have hand brake, where else are you going to  mount the fuel shut off handle?

Worked on my headers again. I made all the main pipes and welded them on. Still got a lot of grinding and checking and touch up welding  to do but the main part is done. Now to make the collectors and their short pipes and make it all fit. It was handy using the gasser engine to build them on. Primary pipes still need 11 more inches. They should fit the dragster with no problem.

A deep sea creature!

No doubt. It has bitten a few unsuspecting V8 racers who decided to take it for granted.
Which of course is the whole point of building it. Hopefully these new fangs will help it bite harder.

Cool.
Here are some other monsters. The 6 Tillotson snowmobile carbs I ran on the rail for the first couple of years. In fact it was why I built the car in the first place. These castings hanging on the wire I designed from an old tillotson carb body and had cast in case I wanted fuel injection. (maybe NITRO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) Still have to build a jig to bore throttle shaft holes.
Maybe some day....

Getting ready to go to Ardmore OK this weekend for their Hot Rod Reunion, put in the 4:56 gears, valves adjusted, going to fire it up in the morning to check everything over and change the oil. Haven't raced since Bowling Green so I am anxious to make some passes!

Not a whole lot of rubber on those BUT they are the only tire I have found to go fast.
