we went to the dover reunion today. broke on the first pass. :'(  lately its been every time we go to the valley something bites us. this time the Mallory electronic module separated from it base. the glue fell apart. had to silicone it to get back on the trailer. great weather, lousy results.
thanks to bill for towing it back to the pits.

Well did some test and tune today to work on .400 Pro Tree and 8.50 index racing. Been working off and on on this for awhile now with not too much success. The vehicle has been too fast and I have been too slow.

The plan is to go to the NDRL race at Edgewater Sports Park Cleves, Ohio in two weeks. I have never run a pro tree and an index so this will all be new to me.

First run, Saturday 1:33 PM August 10
Air Density 2317
Top Pulley 63
Bottom Pulley 42
Pill 110
Top end Fuel Pressure 53.82
Top end Boost 6.74
Reaction time a perfect .400 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
60 foot 1.275
¼ mile   8.467 / 159.23 MPH
A/F ratio 4.048
Comments, Seem dead off the launch, engine RPM graph was flat after launch, two peaks in g-force after launch, short shifted by 300 RPM to second gear

Second run, Saturday 3:11 PM August 10
Air Density 2413
Top Pulley 63
Bottom Pulley 42
Pill 113 Leaned it out a little
Top end Fuel Pressure 49.83
Top end Boost 6.94
Reaction time  .423 not to bad
60 foot 1.275
¼ mile   8.526 / 159.20 MPH
A/F ratio 4.152
Comments, Air was a little worse, and took a little fuel away, I hit the limiter for a brief second before the shift to second. Second good light on the pro tree, ET would be ok for a 8.500 index

Third run, Saturday 4:57 PM August 10
Air Density 2280
Top Pulley 63
Bottom Pulley 42
Pill 113 Leaned out a little
Top end Fuel Pressure 47.72
Top end Boost 7.07
Reaction time  .389  Oops
60 foot 1.267
¼ mile   8.451 / 162.27 MPH Fastest speed I have run yet, I have run faster ETs, but not speed
A/F ratio 4.175
Comments, By the time I ran after sitting in the staging lanes the air got better, was to fast again, Shift to second was right on

Forth run, Saturday 6:52 PM August 10
Air Density 2077
Top Pulley 64
Bottom Pulley 42
Pill 113 Leaned out a little
Top end Fuel Pressure 48.12
Top end Boost 6.68
Reaction time  .394 two in a row
60 foot 1.272
¼ mile   8.504 / 158.45 MPH I can live with this for a 8.500 index!!!!!!!!!!!
A/F ratio 4.138  This may be the magic number with the 113 bypass pill (adjust pulleys to get A/F Ratio)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!A touch fatter than the 8.526 run, slowed it down perfect.

A great day of testing, we are in the ball park!

John, That is to me about as perfect as it gets in a rail. I shoot for 1 1/2 to 2 inches up through at least first gear. That pic made me jealous!

Looks like I got my FED a new money source. Have local streetrod shop wanting me to work for them fabricating, welding and machining. Also want be to do boddywork and willing to teach(good thing).Plus they have need for cabinet builder and use of my GC license. So seems to be good fit. They are waiting for a big business deal to fan out before making offer. I am waiting for offer and hoping they can work with me on few things I need to be able to do to help father keep little extra income while also giving them the time they need. Hopefully me working shorter week everynow and then while doing more hours per day at that time will work for all.

I know the fed will be getting lot closer to the track with some extra cash flow. Wife seems like she will not be mad either.

Finally got some lap's on mine this weekend First pass not so good had to lift got out of groove . Second pass it went 7.55 at 175 I think the track might have been a little off the car skated a lot in high gear . The next day I think the track was prepped a little better First pass was 7.45 at 177 and the second was 7.44 at 177 I think that Hoosier tire will be OK just have to get the pressure right . Every thing went well and it just felt so good to be back in my car again.

Aluminum Corvair box came in the mail today.

My mail woman is becoming popular around my place.

Dead winter, when it's minus whatever, snow up to your....... Glenn won't let me use the vernacular I'm thinking of (HAHA) just teasing Glenn, I'll be sittin' in the middle of the shop floor, surrounded by parts, making engine sounds.

Life is good.

May have put the end of the Steve Miller Band's Livin' in the USA on a loop.

"pulls out ahead of the Howard Cam Special, and....he TAKES IT! The winner...Lefty Mudersbach..."

YEHAW!
