Thanks Jon! I got put in a bad situation with my newest GYs getting damaged. I bought a set of Hoosier JR fuel tires. Heavy= slow. In talking with Hoosier ,I'm told the next run of their #18350 will be lighter. I have a set of GY 2585s that will get us thru the last race of our season.

I was back at the headers for the tunnel ram today. I cut all the final pipes for the primary and tacked 3 in place. WG (new member to this board)stopped by and helped me move some heavy stuff around in the shop so I could put my tow car back inside(63 Dodge Max Wedge)
Headers construction is going well.

I picked up my engine block (completed machining) in NJ and then my painted body panels in NY.

I cant believe it but I finished all the welding on the headers today. Even started on the clean up to make them more presentable. got too hot so I had to quit about 2 PM.

With Sept 28 deal at Picton Airfield coming soon I rolled the Sr Dragster out of the corner and spent the morning cleaning it. While I am not great at cleaning (will never win a show car deal) I have learned over the years that cleaning while making the car presentable is also a great time to closely inspect the car in critical areas. So far everything looked good. I did a slow controlled charge of the battery as well as I do not run a charging system. If I charge it well and don't do anything stupid I can run all day without a recharge. I  like going ready to run. I also did a bit of painting to make the car a bit more photogenic. Only took a few minutes but perked it up nicely. Tomorrow I will do a check of all fluids.
Sept race at Picton has traditionally been great . Looking forward to it again this year. How many more I can run I don't know. Maybe 2 more years is a reasonable goal.

Got the body panels made that go frommnose to front of axle. Being of good taste has its problems. Making the parachute body with cage enclosed is going to take little more than 9 hr day like the rest of the body did. Still have to mount it with dzus fasteners and tabs then to roll the recess for panels.

  Must be getting old those 14 hour work days seem to have more of a toll than they use too.heck more toll than those 22 hour days use to have.

A Friend picked this up from Bang Shift and sent it to me

"Steve and Glenn are in Epping NH for the first New England Hot Rod Reunion.
Rain cancelled the racing Thurs. Glenn got a time trial in on Friday before the rain and had his car pictured
on the Bangshift.com site that it also live streaming the racing. Weather looks good for Sat.

Removed engine and tranny. And a lot of miscellaneous junk. I'm amazed at what was used and raced with. I wouldn't have idled it down the strip.
