What did you do on your Front Engine Dragster TODAY?
wideopen231:
Look at bottom of block your right it can be killer I killed 6000.00 in less than 3 runs. Not Planning on running the whipple on the fed.For soem reason everyone who knows me laughs or shakes their head when I say that. Hey those blower are like drugs.
wideopen231:
Heck I thought a few whap bows, then waaaaaaa and hitting shute while sitting in car making fake runs was just cheap pratice and the way to end long night of working on car.
Spud Miller:
Here sits mine today...tucked into the corner of the FIE shop. I took the body off, got the tires off and that's it for today. I didn't have time to race it last season, but only needs a few things to be ready. The tranny case needs to be recerted, belts rewebbed, and new tires. I have a larger fuel pump for it now and need to get that plumbed and cabled for the shut-off and hi/lo valve. Other than that, I just need time to round up all the support equipment and clean it all up.
A shot of it on the track...
Last time out, we ran 6.91 @ 199 on 98%. That was putting 10 GPM to it. Another half a gallon should have it in the mid 6.80's consistently ...which is all the quicker we ever need to go for what we're doing.
Hoping to have time and money for at least 3 local events this year.
We will see!

Blind Mule:
Spud that's a clean ride ;) I am just starting my build and the body on yours gives me some inspiration BTW what's the wheelbase?
Spud Miller:
Thanks! The wheelbase is 185".
I built the original full body myself...and it was an adventure. Since then, I've back-halved the car (to get below the 7.50 cert tag) and my chassis builder (Gary Eickmann) built the new body from the motor back. I like the look of it now a lot better.
When mine was originally sitting as a bare chassis on the garage floor with the just-finished full body on it, it looked exactly like a huge chili pepper laying there. So, I called it "One Hot Chili Pepper". http://onehotchilipepper.com Haven't updated the site in forever, but there are build pics and reports from years of racing on there.
I just saw our schedule for this year (Pro Nostalgia) and it looks like I have until June to be ready. Won't even attempt to make the April race (that has been known to "snow-out").
Can't wait to hear the cackle again and feel those G's!
