7.0 eliminator tell me what i need to know
225digger:
anyone run this class? talk to me , what does a newbie need to know ?
few questions ill throw out there .
7.0 is basically fast index racing right ? from my understanding you qualify and are paired with a car similiar ET wise and race that way correct ?
bbc with blower is ok ? what about blower size , injection hat , fuel pump ?
powerglide with air shifter is ok setup on a seperate timer {not delay box}
regular msd 7al-3 type ignition ok ? im only asking becuase i see stuff about mags in the rules
i think i have figured out what i would like to do with my new project over the next few months , and seeing how maple grove is having a 7.0 index and also new england is , maybe ill give it a shot ? anything you can tell a new guy would be great .
thanks !

Heads up index racing with no throttle stops. Shifting must be done by driver control, no RPM or timers to control shifting. No delay boxes. Tranny brake and SLE's are legal. Usually 2-3 rounds of qualifying, race done off Sportman ladder (more fair than the Pro ladder) Huge variaty of cars and engine combinations to get there. Only way to make it more fun would be to change to closest to index over/ under doesn't matter. As it is, under the index is a loss. Some groups take an under the index qualifier and add the amount under to the 7.00 and that will be the time of that pass for ladder purposes.
