SFI-20 Boots/Shoes requirements
« on: March 05, 2017, 10:30:49 AM »
I need to purchase SFI-20 boots for my blown FED application.
I see that Sparco came out with an SFI-20 shoe.
Anyone know if this would be legal for my set up ? I am running a Powerglide with a Reid case that is exposed to the driver.

I wear the DJ Safety -20 shoe/boot it's a hard sole and I would recommend http://djsafety.com/product/driving-boots-sfi-20/

Call Big Ben at DJ Safety and he can hook you up with what you need

Paul, appreciate the feed back.
I was looking at the DJ Safety shoe/boot and will probably go with route if I don't hear anything positive about the Sparco sfi 20 shoes.
What I like about the Sparco shoes is that it is actually a shoe and not a bulky boot.
I was just thinking that would make it easier to get into and out of the cockpit in a hurry if needed.

I just read about the Sparco -20 boots and if they have a -20 rating to them they would have to pass tech but I can tell you that the -20 boots I have are not cumbersome. I use to run a pair of Stroud -15 and I would wear a pair of -5 shoes under them and they were very bulky.

Yep. On the odd occasion that I get to drive I wear Carbon X long johns, Nomex race shoes and funny car boots. The more layers between you and the hot stuff, the better.

That looked like a nice dragster and I assume that it had a Reid style case.
After watching that video, it makes me want to wear the sfi-20 shoe inside of the sfi-20 boot.
