We painted the body for the Comp Coupe yesterday

After a test fit we cut out slots to slide the can onto the block alitte more, then made a removeable two piece rear cover to fit around the trans and shifter setup,,made the inside tabs to bolt the cover to the main part of the can,,, Then Beth drilled and tapped the cover plate

After building the rear cover ,I had to make the inside mounts, the way an early flathead is , the back of the block is part of the bellhousing, So we needed to make inside mounts for the can,to overlap the trans and block seam,, I started with 2 inch tubes , then welded some plate pieces to attach the mounts to the inside of the scattershield,,,  Tim Jones

Next We cut out for the can to slide over the throwout rod and a cover plate the the throwout fork and clutch pedel, also had to machine an extenstion for the throwout rod to stick out of the can, That's all for tonite I'll post more tomorrow after work,, Tim Jones

  Thanks we weighed it the other day, weighed 50 Lbs, Like i said it isn't a SFI spec can , but it's better than risking having a chunk of iron hit my feet or who ever might be driveing, OR anyone near the car,, Once while over at a friend if mines house he showed me some photos of when some clutch parts off his car went into the stands and someone lost their life,, said he quit racing for years,  of those photos he showed me was one of him sitting by himself on the gaurdrail after hearing what happened ,A man who's life had been destroyed in a matter of seconds, the most powerful pic I had ever seen in drag racing,,,Tim Jones

It was from the Dino display that's been at the Omaha Zoo where I work, They were dismanteling all of them up at the shop, It was a display of 14 life size robotic dinos, Pretty cool deal our year lease just ended, I've been a fossil hunter since I was a kid and my Grand kids are all dino nuts , so it was fun while it was here,, BTW a Rosebud is almost a must have tool for tweaking parts,, Tim Jones
