Going Lenco and clutch
« on: April 06, 2023, 03:03:45 PM »
How much room do I need from axle centerline (9"ford) to backside of engine plate to fit an 8 5/8" can with CS-1+reverser and still install and remove it without moving engine in the process ?

Not really what you are looking for, but...  My car has a floater 9", believed to be a Mark Williams unit (which probably doesn't matter).  The engine is 40" out.  It is a former NTF chassis, so it most likely had a can and reverser in it originally.  I was trying to mount a full length Ford C4, and it was at least 3" too long.  The output shaft was hitting the female coupler on the axle.  I believe that trans is 32" long.

That is kinda telling me a two speed lenco with Rev should fit with the 8 5/8" can without drama. Thank you Paul
