Thread "locking up"?

The thread I'm speaking of is my thread on front engine dragster section titled "FED Build". Checking for new posts to the forum at the top left of the page, it showed that "Rat" posted at 6:04 PM, but the last two posts I see are from earlier. Mine is post number 48 and Supercat posted number 49. There's not even a thing to click to reply. Something similar happened on an earlier thread I started. I admit, I am not computer savvy so if I am doing something wrong I'd love to correct the error I might be making.

Hi Lynn,
The Master Kill Switch is on the negative battery cable and mounted at the back of the car next to the tail light. The drivers kill switch is in the drivers switch panel and supplies the negative for the solenoid and is grounded independently of the Main Kill Switch. Both must be closed for any power to to go past the solenoid. When both are closed the positive battery cable to the starter is live, all other fused small positive wires draw form the starter.
The only live wire to the back of the car is for the tail light and works independently of the drivers kill so you can't accidently turn if off.

I added the wiring diagram to my previous post in the original thread for you. Tried replying and was getting an error message. Anyways hope the diagram answers your questions. Cheers

NHRA rules dictate Master Kill switch on positive cable.

Fireball, You could argue in a round about way it is killing the positive. It made no sense to me to have live cable going past the flywheel area so cutting it off at the battery was the solution.

You could use a morse style cable to a switch located close to the battery NHRA MANDATES A SWITCH LOCATED OUTSIDE OF THE CAR FOR EMERGENCY  we ran a cable from the right rear of the cage above the wheelie bar mount to in front of the motor and it worked well.

I ran cable from battery at front of car to switch just in front of motor. Then use cable to shut off if needed located in the rear. Keeping cable shorter. You will need 0 cable if running that far to insure power to starter.

 I had same issue on one of Curly's threads.I could only see first cpl post. I had to go to veiw his last post I think to see more, not 100% sure that  was the way around it.

Same on the thread lock up.....
I only have the one kill switch on the upper left dash in cockpit. Never had an issue with tech, except one young guy saying it had to be at the rear of the car and reachable from outside.  I asked him to define rear of car. He said he considered that to be behind the rear wheels. He realized what he said and the fact he was standing behind the left wheel and could easily reach the controls. He then said have a good day racing

Someone mentioned they used the "reply" button at the top of the last page and then they were able to see posts made after the last one that still shows up on the thread. I made a new post this evening and just now went through what I just described and was able to view the post.

But yeah....I agree, there's something wonky on the forum. It happened on another one of my threads that just locked up but nothing got fixed. Far be it from me to be critical though since I know so little about computers I sure as the world couldn't fix it.

Did you click "REPLY" at the top of page 4? That got me to a reply "box" and below that are the latest posts, including mine from earlier today about starting to weld up my chassis. Honestly, there's nothing really great about doing some welding, but it was pretty substantial progress for me to get about 25% of the finish welding done.
