Wheels rotate in neutral
« on: July 29, 2020, 06:37:02 PM »
Dan,
With the car on stands the wheels rotate in neutral. I can stop them pretty easily with my hand.
I had it apart and changed the band and drum. Did I get the high clutch too tight?
I adjusted the cable in high gear and the pin slides in perfectly,  all gears and brake seem fine. Should I favor neutral a little on the adjustment?
Thanks for any advice. BK

Every 'glide I've used does that. I think it is just internal friction in the transmission and converter. Less when the fluid is warmed.

I was worried about this too when first fired off car. It had been decade plus since worked on glide and figured I screwed up, Found out same as stated here. All right for once I am not the only one.LOL

That is normal with a glide, as long as you can stop it easily I would say you are good to go.
