ETC Limiter

I've ordered a ETC Limiter from Spud.  Anyone running them ?  I'm looking forward to having a high end limiter.

Rev limiter for magneto equipped cars.  Some days i miss running MSD stuff, but i don't miss all the stuff that goes with them.

Thank you for the explination . I havn't run a mag in awile . It is nice to have some protection for your motor.The last thing you want to do is run over your crankshaft!

I bought a ETC from Antony Bronge last year. He said it was perked up as he was using it on his FC. I am assuming the dude at ETC did it but did not think to ask him at time we talked.
I am planning to use a supermag and mechanical inj.. This seemed like the perfect deal for what I wanted. Overev, Shift light and at the time for a pneumatic throttle. Which our local group says its a No no.... So will set it up for the Electronic leanout instead.
Lately I have seen a couple people on ITA MF'ing them??? saying the wheel adjustment is way off and that it did not function sometimes. Hopefully this was just one of those incidents as I am really hoping this will work for me.
trying to keep car a simple as possible but have a few modern amenities.

I've got one made to be compatible with the Mallory Mag and a blower.  It has both the PRM limiter and a second RPM switch for the shift light.

How's it work? I didn't get the two step. I have a mechanical burnout limiter, so i wasn't worried about the 2nd step. I hope this works well with any and all mag 'noise'.

They seem a little to good to be true, but if Spudster puts his recommendation on them, i'll try it.  for the record, i gave  up on ITA because it seems everyone MFs everything.   A bunch of grumps most of the time. 

I'll have mine hooked up to a MSD shift lite with a tach built in, so the accuracy will be known very soon.   i won't be relying on it every pass, but i sure hope it works if i need it.  I'll test it periodically (lower the RPM in the warm up and see if it picks up the limiter).

Spud indicated these are built to his specs for the higher output mags, so i would assume that is what this guy is implying with his 'hopped up' version.

 The ETC limiters work well if you use some kind of racing suppression core plug wire (YES, you can run them with a magneto!). If you run regular solid core wires, the noise will cause the unit to limit at an RPM lower than what it's set for. You also can't mount them right on the mag or covered with the spark plug wires or coil wire 

 If you don't run a suppression wire (should be 50 ohms/ft. or less resistance) then your tach signal will be messed up with the same noise and your tach and shift light will be freaking out.

 A few people have had problems with the units due to noise. I stand behind what we sell...if a guy just can't make one work, then I'll make it right. Low risk.

 All the units we sell are beefed up to handle the high output mags. The regular duty units burn up if you limit an 8 or 10 amp Super-Mag with them.

Installed it and warmed the car up.  Nice smooth limiting effect on the motor.  Was odd to hear a blower motor on a limiter...

Went to the track, limiter set for 8000 rpm.  It picked up and held the motor @ 7200 +/- rpm.  Going to raise it and test it again.  If it's off, i don't care; as long as it repeats.
