Dan,
I run classes were your not allowed a delay box.
I already have an older slower brake in the car but its still not slow enough.
Long through buttons help some but not enough and dont fit well in the cockpit.
I was wondering if you have tried or heard of leaving out reverse springs?
I know there is an odd number of springs.
Do you think it would create a problem cocking the reverse piston in the bore?

I thought of that too, but there's not a lot of options for a FED, especially if you want to maintain "the look". Also lower air pressure can make a difference, even a 5 psi reduction, assuming you're not pulling the wheels up out of the beams.

Not sure what springs you have now, but putting weaker springs in will slow it down, I have several customers using stock springs. Also you can orfice the feed hole in the case. Most are drilled at 5/16" you can go as small as 7/32".

Wire wheels or solid? If wire, do you run a guard ring? Do you stage too deep? Minimum roll out can make things happen real fast.

AF150 has very good point.I know with bracket deal you have to stage exact same spot every run or it will be red.I mean 1 or 2 inches makes big difference,especially now days when it take 00- to win most rounds.

One thing I’ve done to slow down the TB is wire a relay in between the button and the brake.

OK.
I'll divulge one of my little techniques I developed to keep from going red when bottom bulb racing without a box.
I two-count each bulb. Or three-count it if I'm still too early.
Like this, for each yellow:
2-1
2-1
2-
1
!
and release on the last
1
.
If still too early try a three-count.
3-2-1
3-2-1
3-2-
1
!
I've been doing this for decades. It takes a little practice to get good (what doesn't?) but its cheaper than mechanical changes and easier to revert back when using the box.
