Mechanical overspeed protection
« on: January 18, 2020, 11:45:18 AM »
We have a points mag with two tach drive ports.
We are looking for a mechanical, cable driven overspeed device. I found a article on a Syncro-Start overspeed governor. I was listed at 3000-3825 rpms. At 1/2 engine speed that would be 6000-7650. Not sure if we could even find one.
Anyone have any experience using on of these?
Thanks...

Still have an old cable drive rpm limiter that went with my Jones tach and Magneto. They cam in two rpm ranges.  See them on ebay now and then . Can be very pricey . Worked well for vintage tech.
