My old Ride
« on: July 27, 2019, 05:29:28 PM »
This is my first serious race car in it various incarnations.
* How I purchased it - Yellow & White. The engine is a 186ci Holden Red, baby brother to the 262 chev
* Before I raced it we painted it Blue on Blue
* It was then done in Metal Flake Blue with Triple SU carbs
* Now fitted with fuel injection
* The engine was then changed to a 250ci crossflow Ford and the whole car stripped down, sandblasted and repainted in Ford Bronze & Gold. Fuel Injection off the Holden engine was used on this engine.
Sadly sold not long after but it is still active more than 25 years later.

Some pics after I sold it, seems each new owner likes to change the exhaust.

That rail would look mighty neat with a Ford Y-Block with an Y-Bloke 4-71 setup...

Calkins, It would be a wild ride with that Y block.

Flyer, With the Holden 10.98/127, with the Ford I did very few runs before selling 10.86/129. After I sold it I think it got down to 10.1 not sure on the speed. The Ford was a mates street car engine that we put the methanol fuel injection on. We flipped the engine plate and made a bellhousing, everything else was the same, 8 1/2" 3000 Stall convertor, glide. Very mild set up but it was just a fun car. 8)

It sounds like a good setup to go out and hammer it and have fun and not have to worry about hurting much.
Cool

It was definitely a fun car, we would run 2-3 weekends a month and do nothing to the engine other than set tappets, spark plugs every month and change the oil every meet. 8)
