Looking for piece of aluminum tube to make drive shaft cover out of. I have a steel deal from a supplier. Have hated it from day one. Have a aluminum collar milled out to mount to trans and center section. just need tube. Anyone know of a supplier who would sell 2' or 3' piece?

Funny thing I have something that will work, not tickled with it. I made it from flat piece using to welding bottle strapped together and a 3rd bottle(nos and then fire bottle) in middle,me standing on middle until down then tighten strap more. Then straps around aluminum tightening till close to size. Close but not perfect like I want. Would have made dang funny video. What we will not try for a race car parts.LMAO

You may have to take a 6 inch od with 1/2" wall tube and turn down to the desired size. Metal depot or similar sites have some listed.

Hoping Roo or Bruce have some leads. I have seen a cpl on here with aluminum tube DS covers.Would like a deal where one is slightly smaller and will slide into the other for easier removal of trans and converter.  Can modify and rework one to little smaller if have to,heck 99% of car is self modified or fabricated.

Mcmaster Carr would be your source although nothing in those numbers,  you will have to go 6061, 1/4 wall on the 5" and you can machine the OD to 1/8" wall and then go with the 4 1/2 x .250 wall and either bore the inside to .125 wall  or machine the OD except where it goes into 5" (4.5 ID) and they do sell by the foot. other than that---I got nothing. When machineing a tube like that and so thin it will sing during the cut, I made a wood plug to fit the open end to support with a live center and use a brand new cutter/insert plus wd40 to get a nice finish

thanks for info.Checked macmaster  Carr a 2' 5" piece looks to be 120 bucks.Little pricey and have to machine a lot. Might have to stick with my rolled and welded piece setup.
