Just wondering what brand, resolution, lens angle camera you are using onboard. Will be back in the seat after a long layoff and thought I might get a camera, initially to critique my driving.

:( So no one is using a cheaper option to a GoPro.
;D All good, glad to see everyone is focused on the important Go Fast stuff.

I'm using an SJ4000.  I'm electronics challenged, but, I'm able to use it.  I've used it in the cockpit, and videoing the launch.  Seems to work well, but, I can't find out how to remotely turn it on.  Maybe it doesn't have one?

We have used a GoPro for over 5 years , yes we had tire shake issues too until we built an alum mount to replace GoPro plastic mount. We mounted on the rear top of our roll bar , far enough out of the way so our driver didn't bump it when getting in and out of the car. The mount we made was mounted to the chute mount . Yes we lost the GoPro with the plastic mount. It helps us look at the driver actions, and how we do down track . We also use a hand held video camera to see what's going on at the start. One thing we look at is wheelie bar tracks and another thing we found was the right slick was being hit harder because of engine torque, so we now put 1/4-1/2 lb more tire pressure in the right tire to help it run straight. If we have long tracks on the track from the wheelie bar we put a liitle more lead on the nose, to help balance the car.
I hope this helps.

Replay Mini used to be all over the web for $125 few years back now hard to find
Mine worked fine--when it quit working you just erase the card and away you go--tough little unit--used at pawn shops they are cheap  more natural angle of view------ GOPRO is wide angle---
The camera helped me learn if it was ME or the CAR when runs did not go right or...when they did  Big Help when starting out --after a year or so you just quit filming and run the car
Would not start out without a camera---mount where it shows hands and steering wheel and front wheels--will teach you a ton!
I have always had a fascination with fast cars at the expense of more normal character development
