Hello. What's the option on transmission mounts. Its seams the norm to run without one. I will be running a 351W with a FMX behind it. Now before you all switch off I know its not a Chevy or a PG but at the moment its all I can afford. So with or without ?? thanks again Pete.

fmx is one big ass heavy trans you would be better off with a c4 just for parts and weight I would run a mount even if it's not bolted solid just to support do you have a mid-engine plate? it was common to run Cleveland heads on a Windsor around here both 2brl and 4brl versions they were used at the drags and oval tracks. sorry off track  a couple of years ago a guy was running an altered with a 351w
only saw him once he was having trans problems
any pics

The car does not know what motor and transmission is in it, be it Chevy or Ford, If its the "norm" to run without a rear mount--- there must be a good reason

gtpete:
Yep there will be a mid plate. Its a 100-105" FED. Over here in England we cant pop down the local yard for a Chevy and a glide. The FMX will get me down the strip, not as quick as you guys but hopefully a lot of fun till funds permit otherwise. So what we saying gearbox mount or not ? Thanks.

jeff/21:
if the motor is mounted solid and the trans also and the frame flexes the weakest part the trans case or bell housing will break!
in this case a FMX has a big cast iron case and a aluminum bell housing i'm not talking  about bolting the trans solid but bolting the stock insulator to the trans and letting it rest on mount supporting the weight
