Pat Johnson:
Hey guy's, after racing three weeks ago, I had just serviced my Dart small block, after changing my oil and cleaning my system 3 filter,I now have no oil pressure at the gage and nothing coming out the line from the block to the gage, I havent done any other checks as of yet,I spun the motor over till the starter got hot and still no oil pressure, Dart little m 406 motor, what more do i need to do before i drop the pan.

dreracecar:
was there oil pressure on the last run???
pull the mag/dist to see if you broke the intermediate pump shaft, other than that, sooner or later you will have to drop the pan

Paul New:
Ditto what Bruce says but in all reality drop the pan it doesn't take that long!

glofria:
What type of pump is it?

Is it possible that you don't have enough oil i the pan for the pump to pick up? Try adding another quart.

dreracecar:
Said "after changing the oil" and we can assume that he did fill it back up again.  I have always after a build was to use a pump drive and a drill motor for oil pressure to save wear on the starter motor
