looking for a machinist

crider:
Can anyone here recommend a good machinist in the Va, Nc. east Tn. area. I'm looking for a shop that does good work somewhere as close to the I-77 I-81 corridor as possible. Anyone here have a good suggestion? My new motor has been sitting untouched at a local shop since Feb.

JrFuel Hayden:
How about a little farther, but top shelf Elite Motorsports in Wynnewood , OK, one of our JrFuel racers is happy with his Elite engine they put together, he had most of the parts of his all iron SBC.
We all think of Elite being ProStock, but since they bought/ merged with Patterson, in Augusta KS , they work on Comp, SS, and Super Comp engines.
Give them a call and see how they can help you. Elite, 888-664-2727, Patterson, 316-775-7771
I'm surprised you can't find any good shops in NC, isn't that Nascar country ?

crider:
Well I have it at a very good shop, does a lot of promod/ top sportsman stuff. I'm just tired of being lied to about when it will be finished.

dusterdave173:
So guess it is at Charlie Bucks?
He is the pro mod guy in your area--they do fantastic work
So problem now is all shops are slammed--that time of year
HP Engines in Norwood NC is not bad ride--they do quality work reasonable
Nichols Engineering  Belmont NC quick ride south on 85  they do high quality work very reasonable
or if your stuff ain't at Bucks he is close to you and very high quality but they do keep lots of "name ' guys stuff running so you might not be at the head of the line
Heintz brothers Statesville NC are Chevy guys
Ghent in Mooresville NC   none better and he dynos

crider:
It's not at Charlie's place, but I think I made some headway today. It's at Billy Albert's shop, he does great work, but it's kinda sad that he kept putting me off to the point I was going over to pick it up this afternoon. He claims to be going to get on it starting first thing this coming week. I guess I'll see. If not I'm going to go pick my stuff up on Friday and take it to someone else. I'm pretty easy going on this kind of thing, but when I dropped it off at the first part of march I was told 6 weeks and it is getting close to being 3 months now. I'm way beyond ready to run my car
