Thinking about putting msd grid in  FED and wondering if any herre are running one.Figure its another tuning tool.Understand not allowed under somet nostalgia rules.Car is mainkly built for brackets and some show races.Grid  can always be removed so legality is not a concern.Looking for input from those running as to how you are running it.My thoughts are to help with starting line power and maybe track tunning.

I do not have one now but will most likely be adding one. The series I run in allows them. If I go to Bakersfield I will remove it.

I have one but have only scratched the surface of its potential. You can map pretty much anything you want timing wise. You can shift or turn on items with it. And it has some data logging features and a couple rev limiters. I should be able to utilize it better this year after spending some time with it. I think its just me but I have a little trouble setting it. A couple others that I know have no issues setting it up. The only draw back I can think of is you need a computer at the track. Although I think there is add ons were you can change settings without the computer.

Well in Heritage racing you can run a MSD Grid in A/F, but not in JrFuel, and 7.0 Pro, I'm not sure about NE-1-2-3. NHRA Comp it's legal  I have had a motor in B/ND, and that team used a Grid, it helped sometimes when the limited 12" wide tires would not get enough bite, so then they would use the grid to pull timing out and roll it back in down track. It's the same issue with the injected nitro Heritage AF cars. 
Yes, another tool to use, another combination to work out.

Oh ya another thing that can help using the grid is if you break traction donw track, like the spot where the congrete track ends and asphalt begins you could pull some timing out and roll it back in later.
The NHRA big show guys pull out some timing put some back in 4-6 times during a run.

was looking at the rules last night, looks like you can use in NE1-3.

what about using timers like the big guys do in J/F and 7.0?

What "timers"  7.0Pro electronics/computers/pnumatics may not control any engine function
