Paul, the $20K for set of AJPE are out of our league. However, the amount of time and effort to get the Brodix to work for us it worked about the same. We run the earlier version of these heads: http://brodix.com/heads-2/small-block-chevrolet-compatible-heads/bd-series1213-5

These are better castings than the one we have (we were doing some R&D for Brodix when they first came out). What we learned was for blown/mag application the castings were too thin and we would blow a hole in the combustion chamber and out the exhaust side of the head. Since they we ceramic coated the chamber and exhaust runner filled in the water jacket with weld along the bottom below the exhaust ports.

Adding to the cost was the fact we had to make our own manifold and headers (you can see photos on the Valley Head Service Facebook page.) And then you have nothing to compare it with so doing the tune was a chore. But, they do a good job helping to propel our brick down the track.  ;D

Oh, in case you were wondering, we use a Buick designed camshaft.

Oh yes I was looking at those heads prior to finding a used set of AJ heads for my SBC, I was running a set of canted Brodix heads on my car it did require a Hogans intake being built. I do like your combo!

The interesting thing about the Brodix head is there is a boss  that will allow you to put an injector nozzle behind the intake valve. Not that we would do that because we like the air/fuel mixture in the intake runner. NOS guys may take advantage of that boss though.

Or combo is too complicated to repeat for production mainly because of the amount of labor involved in making the manifold (one that works). In making them, the law was that it had to sit low so the blower would not stick out of the hood. I've threaten to take one of our manifold up to Tim Hogan to see if he would be interested in making patterns and a jig.

A bit of meaningless trivia, Tim Hogan got his start in the racing world right out of high school here at Valley Head Service. Over the years we have always maintained a great relationship with him.
