turbo in fed
dreracecar:
Turbos are a gray area in 7.0
First rules state No collector style exhaust and the second being that no electronic fuel injection permitted
Modern turbocharged systems rely on electronics to get them right and some have tried to get them to work with the manual injection, the lack of information and cars should be a clue. Adams (the man who had the ability to get it to work) gave up soon after and I believe for the time, Turbo lag was the issue. Montgomery and the Mallicot Bros had some minor success in the gasser classes but speeds were a lot slower back then and it was constant devlopment (years) to get it to work.

stop by my buddies shop today to bs. him and Gene have become good freinds over the last few years. Gene helps him with is nitro vw fed. anyways i showed him the pic above and he told me a little about it. as mentioned the motor is still at Hilborn. i seen writing on the pictures Steve had, the one above and this one below. made 1200 hp on 28lbs. concerning the burnout, from way it sounded they had crappy burnouts. as mentioned previously no way to build boost on the burnout for them. so, in this picture he said the brake was held and clutch slipped till it built up enough boost or some boost and then let er rip. thats why a xxxxx shot.
here is pic of it on the dyno.

With a Glide and a tranny brake, it would work, problem is controlling the boost and matching the fuel requirements.
