Hello Everyone
Hope you having great Labor Day .
Anyone know what the difference between 6.2 cert and 6.3 cert for belhousings ?
Is it the starter pocket for a 6.3?
7.0 pro Heritage rules stat 6.2. My car has 6.3 good till 6-17 so wanted to see if need new belhousing?
sure looked exactly the same as my 6.2 in AA/FA minus the starter pocket.
It is a Lakewood Manf. housing.
Race on good people

total info of specs are on the SFI foundation web site
6.2 is for fuel and alcohol cars and no starters, steel or Ti material
6.3 is for blown and nitrous cars, "can" have starter pocket, additionally a 6.3 BH "CAN" be made out of aluminum as long a the correct liner is used. I dont think one can weld blow-back tabs or clutch peddle & linkage to the aluminum can as it changes the heat treat

Thanks Bruce,
Does that mean NHRA will accept 6.3 in 70 pro if starter is on engine?
I am sure there are some guys running starters on the engine in Heritage series 7.0 pro ?
I will call NHRA DIV 7 tech to see if I can get correct answer.
Thanks for the information

6.3 is accepted for 7.0
Personally I would use a blower starter instead of a block starter, seen too many fail at the worst possible time. At least have a blower starter cage and drive dog installed, that way you can borrow one from another racer in the lanes if you need to.
